Kollywood star Karthi is currently working on Sardar 2, Vaa Vaathiyaar, and Marshal, which are in different stages of production. The acclaimed actor was supposed to reunite with Tamil star director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the highly anticipated sequel to Kaithi.
Kaithi 2 is a prominent film in the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe), and the franchise fans are eagerly waiting for the project to go on floors at the earliest. The project was supposed to go on floors soon after Coolie’s theatrical release.
However, with Lokesh choosing to collaborate with Rajini and Kamal Haasan for a crazy multi-starrer, Kaithi 2 is said to have been put on hold indefinitely, leaving the LCU fans disappointed.
And the latest buzz in Kollywood circles reveals that Karthi has okayed a script narrated by senior Tamil actor-director Sundar C, the director of Nayanthara’s Mookkuthi Amman 2 and the Aranmanai franchise.
The Karthi-Sundar C film is expected to go on floors in December 2025, once both the stars are free from their ongoing commitments. Stay tuned for further updates.
