Earlier in the year, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani announced their third collaboration for the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke. The announcement created a massive wave on the internet since it is coming after cult hits like 3 Idiots and P.K. Recently, there have been rumors that Aamir wasn’t satisfied with the script and asked Hirani to rework on it.
According to a recent report in Bollywood Hungama, the film has now been shelved. The report mentioned “Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani stand for perfection, and they were not happy with the script of Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic. Aamir felt that the script is too dry for the audience in today’s world, and doesn’t have the humour that one expects from their collaboration. After repeated sessions of rewriting, the duo has collectively decided to put the project on hold.”
The report further mentioned, “They believe that a personality as iconic as Dadasaheb Phalke deserves a script that is both emotionally stirring and universally engaging. Until they arrive at that benchmark, they are in no hurry to rush the film into production.” Earlier, Aamir Khan also shelved his film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the sudden development about Dadasaheb Phalke’s biopic shocked fans.
