This Onam, Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah locked horns at the box office. Lokah received extraordinary reviews and word of mouth. Hridayapoorvam also received positive reports, but Lokah took a massive lead and emerged as the South Indian highest-grossing female-led film. Apart from the team’s efforts, the genre played a key role in Lokah’s magnanimous success.

Hridayapoorvam, on the other hand, is a family entertainer focused more on comedy. Braving Lokah’s storm, the Mohanlal starrer has surpassed the Rs. 50 crores gross milestone globally. This is definitely a big achievement for a Mollywood film, and it is the third consecutive Rs. 50 crore grosser for Mohanlal following L2: Empuraan and Thudarum.

Had there been a solo release, Hridayapoorvam would have collected even bigger numbers. Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, the movie also stars Malavika Mohanan, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Sangeeth Prathap, and others in key roles. Antony Perumbavoor produced this flick under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Justin Prabhakaran composed the tunes.

Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty, is set to hit the big screens tomorrow. The new action glimpse of this Krish’s directorial was launched this morning by Prabhas. Earlier, Rana Daggubati supported the film by having a phone call with Anushka. Now, Icon Star Allu Arjun has joined Rana and Prabhas in promoting this intense action drama.

Just like Rana Daggubati, Icon Star spoke to Anushka over the phone. During their conversation, Allu Arjun cherished his journey with Anushka, recalling memories of Vedam and Rudramadevi. The star actor conveyed his best wishes to Anushka ahead of the release and asked her not to be nervous. Allu Arjun remarked that Anushka performs action at the level of top heroes.

Allu Arjun and Anushka jointly said that it would be exciting to see Sheelavathi and Pushpa in a film together. Allu Arjun appreciated Anushka, saying that she is among the very few actresses in this generation who can headline female-oriented projects. Ghaati also stars Vikram Prabhu, Jagapathi Babu, and Chaitanya Rao.

Teja Sajja’s PAN Indian film Mirai, produced by People Media Factory, gained solid momentum after the theatrical trailer dropped online. Big production houses are backing this fantasy entertainer across languages. Karan Johar is presenting the film in Hindi under his Dharma Productions banner.

A promotional event was held in Mumbai today, during which Karan Johar said, “I am deeply privileged and honored to present Mirai. I congratulate TG Vishwa Prasad sir. His tremendous passion is what brought him here. We don’t work based on numbers or calculations; we go by passion and instinct. Karthik is an immensely successful cinematographer. He put his heart and soul into Mirai, which is the beginning of many more to follow.”

The ace filmmaker added, “The team pulled off great VFX with limited resources. The budget is tight, but the vision is large. The vision is worth a thousand crores. It has nothing to do with money. When I saw the world of Mirai, I was blown away. Not just because it is deeply rooted in our ithihas, but its storytelling is deeply rooted. I got goosebumps watching the interval block. I literally stood up, wondering what was happening.”
