Mohanlal’s latest family drama Hridayapoorvam has managed to pull crowds to theatres in its opening weekend. Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, the film has collected an impressive ₹6 crore in just two days.

Starring Mohanlal and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles, the film has struck a chord with audiences for its mix of emotions, warmth, and relatable storytelling.

Adding to the charm are surprise cameo appearances by Basil Joseph and Meera Jasmine, which fans have widely appreciated. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, Hridayapoorvam looks set to continue its strong run and is emerging as a festive winner this season.

Kalyani Priyadarshan’s female-centric superhero film Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra is setting the cash registers ringing. The movie was released for Onam, clashing with Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam. Lokah took a good opening, but Hridayapoorvam dominated the global box office on the first day.
However, the tables turned with Lokah starting to take the lead both domestically and internationally. The movie, produced by Dulquer Salmaan, opened at Rs. 6.6 crores, and on the second day, the superhero film registered a mind-blowing growth, grossing Rs. 12.2 crores. This takes the two-day total to Rs. 18.6 crores gross. The stunning performance is taking even trade pundits by surprise.

In Telugu, Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments released the movie under the title Kotha Lokah. The dubbed version is also off to a promising start. Directed by Dominic Arun, the movie is expected to rake in solid numbers over the weekend. Premalu Naslen plays a crucial role.
