War 2, starring NTR and Hrithik Roshan, is struggling big time at the ticket windows. The biggie saw a good growth on Independence Day, but after that, it registered massive drops. On the first Sunday, the movie earned less than the opening day numbers, which pretty much sums up the scenario.

On the first Monday, the spy action thriller crashed both at the domestic and overseas box office. Till now, the makers haven’t released any collection poster despite repeated requests from fans. Finally, five days after the film’s release, YRF shared the collection poster, according to which the multistarrer earned Rs. 300.5 crores gross globally.

In India, War 2 collected about Rs. 240 crores gross, while another Rs. 60.5 crores ($6.93 million) came from the international markets. The domestic nett is around Rs. 196.5 crores. Generally, this number would have been considered solid for other movies, but since War 2 features two of the biggest stars from Telugu and Hindi cinema, the collections are way below expectations. Let’s see how much more this biggie can make in its lifetime.

Kaithi

Lokesh Kanagaraj didn’t satisfy fans completely with his last two outings, Coolie and Leo. He was supposed to do Kaithi 2 (Khaidi 2) after Coolie, but it appears that there will be a change in plans. According to Tamil media reports, Lokesh is planning to do a mega multistarrer with Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan that will be produced by Raaj Kamal Films International.

Normally, this news should have made movie buffs go crazy, but the situation is quite contrasting on social media. Not just LCU fans, but the majority of the audience seems to be disappointed with the latest development, as Lokesh Kanagaraj is continuously pushing back Kaithi 2. Ideally, Kaithi 2 should have begun after Master, but till now, there has been no progress on the Karthi starrer.

The brand value of Lokesh has undoubtedly taken a beating with Leo and Coolie, and hence, LCU fans believed that the director could regain his form with Kaithi 2. However, with the project put on the back burner, some are even doubting if there is a proper story for the second installment. Can Lokesh Kanagaraj counter the criticism with his upcoming films? Only time will tell us that.
