One of the much-loved Indian web shows, Panchayat, is set to return with its fourth installment. The TVF series will arrive on Prime Video sooner than expected. Earlier, the village comedy-drama was scheduled to release on July 2. However, season 4 will now premiere on June 24, following an interactive fan campaign that allowed fans to ‘vote’ for an earlier release date.

Prime Video has also dropped the trailer with the updated release date. The new installment will center around the high-stakes Pradhan elections, featuring a fierce contest between Neena Gupta and Sunita Rajwar without missing out on the show’s biggest strength, humor.

Alongside the political drama and tongue-in-cheek comedy, audiences are eagerly waiting to witness the budding romance between Jeetendra and Sanvikaa. Three seasons have been released so far, all of which garnered staggering viewership.

Panchayat has a dedicated fanbase among the Telugu audience, too. The series also stars Raghubir Yadav, Chandan Roy, and Faisal Malik, in pivotal roles. Panchayat 4 is created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar. The web show is jointly directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya.

Thug Life marked the collaboration between the legendary duo Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after three long decades. Shockingly, the film failed to meet expectations and crashed completely at the box office. Netizens are mercilessly trolling the actor and director for delivering such a dud.

Young Telugu director Phanindra Narsetti, famous for the Madhuram short film and the full-length feature film Manu, has now lashed out at netizens who are criticizing Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan. While promoting his upcoming movie, 8 Vasanthalu, the director stated that people should have specific eligibility to judge such iconic personalities.

Phanindra Narsetti said, “Everyone is entitled to express their opinions. However, I firmly believe we should have a specific eligibility before commenting about others. After Thug Life’s release, people are now teaching Mani Ratnam how to make films. A random moviegoer is now educating a legendary director like Mani Ratnam, who has been in the industry for 40 years.”

The filmmaker added, “Someone who followed Mani Ratnam’s filmography closely and admired him for a long time definitely has the right to criticize. Only they will be able to know that pain. But people who don’t even have proper knowledge are passing comments. Hence, I used the word ‘Eligibility’ here.” Phanindra Narsetti’s comments are drawing adverse reactions from netizens at the moment.
