Superstar Mahesh Babu is the highest followed hero on social media not only in Tollywood but in the entire southern film industry. In a latest feat, the actor has reiterated his popularity yet again, with his official Facebook page clocking over 14 million followers.

Mahesh’s new feat on Facebook is followed by Twitter (11.2 million followers and Instagram 6.5M followers). Even though Mahesh has not acted in any pan-India film till date, he fan base keeps increasing in the southern states and across North India, as most of his movies get dubbed in other Indian languages.

And finally, the suspense surrounding the actor who will be playing the main antagonist opposite Allu Arjun in the highly-anticipated pan-India film, Pushpa, has ended. In a massive surprise, acclaimed Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil has been roped in to play Allu Arjun’s nemesis in this Sukumar directorial.

“Our ferocious Pushpraj has an equally fierce opponent,” the makers said, while announcing Mollywood’s Powerhouse Fahadh’s name as the villain of Pushpa. Fahadh is not only popular in Kerala, but he has a huge fan base in South and also in the North. Needless to say, his presence will take Pushpa to the next level.

Pushpa stars young beauty Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The film is being produced under Mythri Movie Makers banner in association with Muttamsetty Media. DSP is scoring the soundtrack. Pushpa is slated for release on August 13.

Legendary Hollywood filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan felicitated Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan for his contribution to preserve India’s film heritage. Martin and Nolan, who have been striving to preserve film heritage for years, presented International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) Award to Amitabh Bachchan via a virtual ceremony.

Big B took to Instagram and shared a picture of him receiving the award from filmmaker and Film Heritage Foundation chief Shivendra Singh Dungarpur. “I had the privilege of meeting this living legend a few years ago. You realise the importance of everything you have done for the preservation of India’s film heritage,” Nolan said about Amitabh.

Thanking Martin and Nolan, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Our commitment to the cause of saving India’s film heritage is unshakeable and Film Heritage Foundation will continue its efforts to build a nationwide movement to save our films.”
