There had been talk all day, and films already booked for the same weekend slowed down their promotions because it looked like Akhanda 2 might take over the date. By the time the makers confirmed that the film would arrive on December 12, 2025, the industry had already gone through a full day of speculation.
One film that got caught in this chaos was Mowgli 2025 from People Media Factory. It was originally planned for December 12, 2025, but once Akhanda 2 stepped in, director Sandeep Raj shared an emotional note on X. He said he felt unlucky because it looked like another one of his films might get pushed again.
His post brought a lot of reactions. Some people supported him and some criticised him. Later, Sandeep explained that he had received a call saying the film might move to either February 2026 or April 2026, and that made him react the way he did. Not long after, he was told that the team had actually decided on a new date, December 13, 2025, for the release.
The US premieres will go ahead as planned on December 11, 2025, so there is no change there. Everything happened within a single day and created more confusion than expected, but it settled quickly. Mowgli 2025, starring Roshan Kanakala and Sakshi Mhadolkar, will now arrive on December 13, 2025, just one day later than the original plan.
