The first glimpse of Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi landed the other day, and the buzz hasn’t slowed since. The scale, the visual sweep, the VFX – everything in that video has people talking. The launch event itself pulled solid attention, and by the end of it the glimpse was everywhere.
Earlier, we mentioned that Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran spoke to a few international outlets. Once the interviews wrapped, Priyanka pulled the two in for a quick selfie. She plays Mandakini in the film and Prithviraj plays Kumbha. All three turned up in crisp formal wear and carried the quiet confidence one expect from a team of this scale. The selfie blew up online within minutes.
What the team is lining up next is still under wraps, and they are keeping it that way for now. Rajamouli is back at Ramoji Film City overseeing the climax block, which has been in prep for a while.
The film is mounted on a massive budget under Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business. MM Keeravaani is handling the score. The current plan is a Summer 2027 release, though that could shift depending on the shoot’s pace.
