Released in December 2021, director Rahul Sankrityan’s period social drama, Shyam Singha Roy, earned critical acclaim and commercial success at the box office. The film features Nani and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, while Krithi Shetty, Madonna Sebastian, and Manish Wadhwa played pivotal roles.
Shyam Singha Roy is currently streaming on Netfix. Last night, Netflix India South’s official X handle took fans by surprise with an exciting post. “A flashback is not enough, we need a full fledged movie with Shyam Singha Roy,” the post read. Joining the party, Shyam Singha Roy makers teased fans with their reply – “Manifestation is real dear, @Netflix_INSouth,” hinting at a possible sequel to SSR.
However, both Nani and Rahul Sankrityan have their hands full for the next couple of years. While Nani has The Paradise and Bloody Romeo with director Sujeeth, Rahul Sankrityan is currently helming Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated period drama set in Rayalaseema. Whether or not the Shyam Singha Roy sequel will materialize in the future remains to be seen.
