Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan played a 15-minute role in Coolie, and movie buffs are eagerly looking forward to the same. A recent report in Bollywood Hungama claimed that Aamir Khan is getting personally involved to ensure a wide release for Coolie’s Hindi version in North India.
The report mentioned, “Aamir has reportedly called PVR-Inox boss Ajay Bijli directly, aggressively requesting premium showcasing for Coolie across the country, and has even pushed the multiplex chain to do a marketing tie-up with the Rajinikanth starrer in North India. The call has left the PVR-Inox team stunned. “Aamir has no financial stake in Coolie. This wasn’t expected.”
This has caused a huge stir on social media, with War 2 fans trolling Mr. Perfectonist. The admirers of the spy thriller commented that the Hindi actor was making things ugly by playing a spoilsport to War 2’s business. The report also mentioned that Aamir’s phone call has caused nervous murmurs within the exhibition chain, leading to a battle of egos. The spokesperson of Aamir Khan Productions has now issued a statement dismissing the rumors.
The statement from Aamir Khan’s office read: “Neither Aamir Khan, nor anyone from his team, is involved in the distribution of Coolie. Mr. Khan has not made any calls to any exhibitor or distributor. His cameo in the film is purely a gesture of his bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Everyone at AKP, especially Aamir Khan, is thrilled with the success of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release and is overjoyed with the response it has received.”
