Shankar Shanmugham was once a top director not just in Kollywood but also in Indian cinema. However, his last films failed miserably at the box office. Indian 2, headlined by Kamal Haasan, and Game Changer, headlined by Ram Charan, received an outright rejection from the audiences.
According to the latest media reports in Kollywood, Shankar’s son Arjith Shankar is all set to make his silver screen debut as a lead actor in a Tamil film. Arjith is said to have undergone training in acting for the last few years. Reportedly, Shankar gave his nod to the script, and Ajith’s debut film will be a youthful entertainer.
One of Atlee’s proteges will be taking the responsibility of launching this star kid. Shankar’s daughter is already into acting, playing leading lady roles. She is busy doing Tamil and Telugu films, and now it looks like Arjith will follow in his sister’s footsteps. Meanwhile, Shankar is now working on the script of his next big-budget film, Velpaari, and there is uncertainty around Indian 3’s release.
