Su From So, the recently released Kannada-language blockbuster, is now preparing to entertain Telugu audiences. The film stars Shaneel Gautham, J. P. Thuminad, Sandhya Arakere, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Mime Ramdas, and features a memorable appearance by Raj B. Shetty. It also marks the directorial debut of J. P. Thuminad, who brings a fresh and rooted voice to Kannada cinema.
Set in a sleepy coastal village, Su From So blends supernatural mystery with rustic humour and emotional depth. The film explores themes of possession and local folklore with a light-hearted tone, offering a rare combination of horror, comedy, and heart. Audiences in Karnataka embraced it for its originality, cultural flavour, and natural performances, making it one of the most successful and talked-about films in recent times.
Following its blockbuster run in Kannada, the film is now being brought to Telugu screens by Mythri Movie Distribution LLP. The respected banner has acquired the theatrical rights and is expected to announce the release date soon. With this week’s Telugu release calendar looking quiet, there is growing speculation that the team might opt for a release this Friday. At the same time, they may wait for a more strategic date to build momentum and reach a wider audience.
The film was recently dubbed and released in Malayalam as well, continuing its regional expansion. Music for Su From So is composed by Sumedh K, whose work adds mood and texture to the storytelling. Backed by Lighter Buddha Films, the project stands as a celebration of storytelling that is both local in spirit and universal in appeal.
