While Surya Sethupathi has been winning accolades for his performance in his debut movie, several viral videos in which he was chewing bubblegum while interacting with fans at Phoenix’s premiere have landed him in an unexpected controversy.
Several netizens trolled Surya for his “arrogant behavior,” while many went on to call him a “result of nepotism.” However, Surya’s doting dad, Vijay Sethupathi, has apologized to those who were hurt by his son’s behavior. Vijay Sethupathi went on to call his son’s act “unintentional.” “It might have been done unknowingly. I sincerely apologize if anyone was hurt or misunderstood the intention,” said the Makkal Selvan.
