Acclaimed Tollywood filmmaker Sekhar Kammula has scored yet another blockbuster in his illustrious 25-year career with the recently released pan-India socio-political thriller, Kuberaa. Starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the film has emerged as a huge money spinner by grossing over Rs 100 crore.
However, despite Kuberaa’s massive success in Telugu, the film’s Tamil version surprisingly failed to make any impact at the box office. The film could only manage to collect a nominal Rs 20 crores at the ticket counters across Tamil Nadu.
In a recent interview, Sekhar reflected on Kuberaa’s failure in Tamil Nadu. “I thought Tamil audiences would connect with Kuberaa’s story and Dhanush’s character. However, following the film’s disappointing result, we will have to analyze why and where we have failed with the Tamil version,” said the award-winning director.
