Amid the theater strike fiasco and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s sensational open letter to Tollywood producers, veteran Tollywood producer Allu Aravind held a press meet on Sunday to clarify his alleged involvement in the ‘Aa Naluguru’ group that rumoredly controls the Telugu film distribution and exhibition systems in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Allu Aravind clarified that he is not part of the ‘Aa Naluguru’ group, which people have been talking about for the past 15 years. He also said that he doesn’t own theaters in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, apart from a share in the AAA multiplex in Hyderabad. The senior producer went on to say that he has taken about 15 theaters on lease in Andhra Pradesh and that he has no plans to renew them in the future.

Allu Aravind went on to describe the move to call for a theater strike just before a Pawan Kalyan film release as irresponsible. Allu Aravind also termed the film industry representatives not meeting with AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu as a “mistake.” Allu Aravind concluded by saying that he distanced himself from the recently held Film Chamber meeting between the exhibitors, distributors, and producers, as he didn’t align with the decision of shutting down theaters.
